There were 17 registrants attending the first workshop. We started with a presentation by Cornelia Tschichold in the morning, followed by presentations by Trude Heift, Anne Vandeventer and Mathias Schulze in the afternoon. The workshop closed with an interesting round-table discussion at the end of the day. The workshop seemed to be well-received by the workshop attendees.

We decided that the sig will organise a second pre-conference workshop for next year. After some discussion we decided to organise it in such a way that both newcomers to the field and researchers in the field will find it an attractive, interesting and useful event.

During the meeting we decided that the SIG needs a Web page. Aliy volunteered to set it up at the University of Kent in Canterbury (Britain).
